I'll be showing some new and old work at Seongsu's very hip spot, Daelim Changgo Gallery.

ctrl V is a printmaking exhibition featuring Kim Jong Hwan, Sin Ji Sun, Albert Che, Samatha Blumenfeld and myself.

The exhibition starts tomorrow and runs for 2 months. The opening party is planned for the evening of December 13. Hope to see you there!

This past weekend I ran a wood engraving workshop at miniprint in Seoul. It's a challenging technique that takes years to master, but it was exciting to see what the artists, all new to the medium, could churn out in one day.

I'm very happy to announce my little wood engraving, Defense, was selected as a purchase prize winner at the Ottawa School of Art's Miniprint Exhibition. Yay!

I am participating in an exhibition in Dreux, France. The theme of the small format biennale was racines (roots), which could be considered from any perspective. You can find out more on the organizer's Facebook page.

Groteskyun has completed its fourth instalment! This year brought together 6 artist from Japan, Korea and Canada for a celebration of printmaking that is both sweet and unsettling. Click the link below to see some photos from the exhibition.

Good news!

Two of my teeny weeny wood engravings are included in the Mini Print International Exhibition at JVS Project Space in New York. The exhibition features 80 prints by artists from over 20 countries.

I have one print that headed over to Lafayette for Sixty Sqaure Inches XIX at Fountain Gallery. Purdue University has been organizing a sixty square inch format North American printmaking exhibition since 1977.

I'm very happy that I was selected for the 61st CWAJ Print Show this year. It's always a beautiful exhibition of contemporary Japanese Prints by artists young and old. The Tokyo exhibition was held at the end of last month, but you still have a chance to see a selection from the show in Kobe.

I'm very pleased to announce that one of the mokuhanga prints currently on display at Beauty of Mokuhanga: Discipline & Sensibility has been selected for an acquisition award! The award is from the Hawaii State Foundation for Culture and the Arts, art in Public Places. It is an honour to have my print join their collection.

Beauty of Mokuhanga: Discipline & Sensibility

On view now at the Art Gallery at University of Hawai'i at Manoa. The exhibition features over 100 mokuhanga artworks created by artists from around the globe, including me! The show runs from August 21 - October 1, 2017. The opening events will be held on Sept 28, to coincide with the start of IMC 2017. More information on the University of Hawai'i website, link below.

There is still one month left for Just Under 100: New Prints 2017/Summer selected by Katherine Bradford at IPCNY. The show runs until September 16 so if you are in New York, don't miss it!

The Hida Takayama International Contemporary Woodblock Prints Triennale exhibition has moved to a second location. The exhibition of woodblock prints from around the world will be on display at the Takayama Museum of History and Art (飛騨高山まちの博物館) from July 8- July 17, 2017.

Takayama is a beautiful city boasting many historical sights and also some darn good beef. I highly recommend it as a spot to visit.

Amazing news! I am thrilled to have one of my newest prints, "That is All", included in IPCNY's upcoming New Prints show. What an honour to once again be selected for such a well respected exhibition!

Since April, I have been busy packing, leaving one house and moving across a sea (soon to be unpacking in a new home). All of this change has left me with little to no time to spend in the studio and I'm anxious for things to get back to their normal rhythm. Luckily, it doesn't mean all aspects of my work has to be put on hold.

I am happy to announce that one of my mokuhanga prints (created much like you see in the photo) has been selected for the Hida Takayama International Contemporary Woodblock Prints Triennale 2017.

The exhibition, curated by Kayla Harriel, calls to question the role of technology in our current day communication. My solo exhibition, Somewhere, Anywhere is still on at Ymuno Exhibitions. Don't miss it!

2016 was an exciting, yet challenging year, and it's wonderful to see all the prints together, giving me some perspective about the past and ideas for the future.

Ymuno exhibitions is a gallery in the Belgo Building (Studio 530), run by 2 lovely people who also happen to be incredible painters. Their exhibitions include local, nationiwide and international artists. Even if you can't make it for my show, it's definitely worth a visit.

Ymuno exhibitions is presenting my new solo show, Somehwere, Anywhere. It is the first time that I will exhibit my mokuhanga prints- the results of my 2015-16 cultural studies research and production in Japan. I am also exhibiting some new wood engraving, linocuts and lithographs.

Somewhere, Anywhere runs from January 19 - February 18 at Ymuno Exhibitions. There will be a vernissage on January 21 at 4-8pm open to the public. Come one, come all!

I wrote a biographical story of how my upcoming exhibition came to be for from-montreal.com. They are a Japanese language website showcasing events, people and places in Montreal. Website is in Japanese.

I am happy to announce that I will have a solo exhibition at Ymuno Exhibitions starting in January, 2017. The artist run gallery is located in Montreal's historical Belgo building. It will be my first time exhibiting mokuhanga and my first solo show in Canada in 6 years! More info to come! Check out facebook for the event opening.

I sent a couple prints to the Ural Print Triennial in Russia. It's a huge exhibition of small scale printmaking, with some familiar names in the participating artists. Peruse the photos of the exhibition on their Facebook page if you wish.

The 2nd New York International Miniature Print Exhibition starts tomorrow, November 4 at Manhattan Graphics Center. 124 miniature prints (selected out of 600) will be on display, including one by yours truly.

One of my lithographs will be included in the group exhibtiion "Twisted Impressions" at Davidson Galleries in Seattle. It features some wonderfully dark artworks by a variety of talented printmakers (a few of whom I personally know and all whom I respect). It's an honour to be inculded in such an exhibition.

I decided to spend the larger part of this year learning a new technique: mokuhanga. It has proven to be a great challenge, as it's a medium that appears deceptively simple. I'm really excited to be included in Davidson Galleries' "Introductions", an exhibition of international printmakers new to the gallery.

Some of my unique pieces, made combining print, sewing and watercolour, are headed to Korea. I am totally excited to be taking part in AHAF Seoul from August 25-28, 2016.

The show started May 2016 and every week features an up and coming artist like yours truly. There have been painters printmakers, sculptors, even bonsai artists. I was really excited to find out that Spiral will be hosting an exhibition of all the artists who appeared so far. Spiral is a unique space near Omotesando station and it will certainly be a thought provoling show.

As part of my time at LKV this spring, I was able to spend a few nights at the historic lighthouse on Sula. Sula is a tiny island on the atlantic a few hours away from Trondheim. Artists in residence at LKV are offered the chance to visit and stay at the lighthouse for creation and inspiration.

I was selected as one of the exhibiting artists at the 1st International Print Biennial Lodz. It's an honour to be exhibiting alongside so many accomplished printmakers. The show starts next month, September 9 in Poland.

Ichi-go Ichi-e exhibition is being held again this year at Kyorin Hospital Art Space. It's a group exhibition with the aim of offering something interesting to look at, while conveying a positive message to hospital patients and visitors. Information on the exhibition can be found on the hospitals website (in Japanese only).

Well, here I am talking about miniprints again.

I've sent works to the BIMPE miniprint biennale for the past 6 years- this is the 4th time I'll be taking part.

Anyone in Vancouver for September - October should definitely check it out. There's a chance I just might be in town for the opening, too!!!

I have talked of my love for miniprints before and I'm sure I'll do it again.
